Developers

The DesLauriers Group, in conjunction with landowner Philip Brous, has developed the Teton Mountain Lodge.

Charles DesLauriers has been involved in the development of dozens of hotels throughout the United States and Canada. In the past four years as an entrepreneurial hotelier, his successful track record includes five projects either completed or under development. A recent accomplishment is the 104 unit Hawthorne Suites hotel in Burlington, Vermont that received the Hotel of the Year Award for 1999, by US Franchise System.

In addition to developing award winning properties for his own account, Charles DesLauriers held positions as Vice-president of Development for The Sheraton Corporation and Inter-Continental Hotels over a period of 12 years after his graduation from the Cornell Hotel School with a Master's Degree. As the youngest Vice-president at the Sheraton Corporation, Chuck was involved in the development of over 40 hotels including the Sheraton, Society Hill in Philadelphia, the Sheraton Inner Harbor in Baltimore and the Sheraton Music City in Nashville. His broad base of contacts from 21 years in the hotel industry, plus his skills in project evaluation and development, are invaluable to his success as an entrepreneurial hotel developer.

Rob DesLauriers, a fellow Cornell Hotel School alumnus and resident of Jackson Hole, boasts 13 years experience in hotel management, ski resort marketing and ski industry promotions. Upon graduation, Rob spent seven years working his way from group sales associate to Resort General Manager and Director of Marketing at Bolton Valley Ski Resort in Vermont. His responsibilities included overseeing production and placement of all advertising and promotional materials, direct sales, and day-to-day management of the 146 room hotel and seven food and beverage outlets. His hotel operations and ski resort marketing experience are tremendous assets for hotel development in a ski resort location.

This experience and knowledge coupled with his growing reputation as a pioneer of the Extreme Skiing movement, prompted Rob to move west and start his own ski industry promotions business. For the past six years, he has owned, operated and directed Extreme Sports Promotions, the international Extreme Team Advanced Ski Clinics and Straight Up Films. Rob has skied professionally for The North Face and Salomon, starring in over 25 ski films, producing five films himself and recently has led expeditions to ski high altitude peaks in remote corners of the globe. His ski industry contacts are extensive.

Ralph DesLauriers, developed, owned, and operated Bolton Valley Resort in Vermont from its inception in 1963 through 1997. The vast experience of his 32-year career included the development of 18 condominium projects including one 64-unit condominium hotel sold on a "quartershare" basis. In his tenure as President and CEO of Bolton Valley, Ralph also served as President of the Vermont Ski Areas Association, Director of the National Ski Areas Association, Chairman of the New England Council for Economic Development, President of the Vermont Hotel and Restaurant Association as well as local planning commissions and numerous state boards and commissions as appointed by four different governors.

Ralph lends his vast experience and knowledge to The Teton Mountain Lodge project. His experience with development, governmental bodies, ski resort operations, and the ski industry as a whole are a valuable asset to the DesLauriers Group.

Together, the DesLauriers Group brings a rich and broad knowledge of hotel and resort development experience to The Teton Mountain Lodge, which is destined to become one of the West's great resort hotels.

Dr. Philip Brous, is a part time resident of Jackson Hole and landowner in the project. He has recently retired from his practice as a cardiologist in Cleveland, Ohio. Philip is a savvy and kind businessman who has had success as a hotel developer in Ocean City, Maryland. Philip was a ground level player with the group that grew Outback Steakhouses into a publicly traded restaurant group. Philip purchased the land in 1997 from the original developer of Jackson Hole Resort. He is an active advisor on the project.
